Friday, January 6, 2006 - Calendar update: The eight-week all-comer series of track meets at Los Gatos High School will run from tomorrow, January 7, through February 25. The high jump, long jump, and shot put begin at 12:30pm with triple jump and discus to follow; running events begin at 1:00pm, pole vault at 12:00pm. Compete in as many events as you like for $4, or spectate for just $2.


Thursday, June 30, 2005 - Calendar update: The paint on the newly-refinished track at Los Gatos High School is not dry yet. Friday, May 27, 2005 - Results update: Congrats to our 2005 CCS Champions: Andre Roper (Oak Grove) and Amber Kaufman (Branham). They and eight other high jumpers will represent the CCS next weekend at the State Meet in Sacramento. Full CCS Finals HJ Results.

Saturday, May 21, 2005 - Results update: Qualifiers to CCS Finals are lead by Andre Roper at 6-6 and Laurie Roberts at 5-8. Full CCS Prelims HJ Results.

Saturday, May 14, 2005 - Results update: Michelle Johnson puts on a clinic by jumping 5-8 to earn the SCVAL's #1 qualifying spot. Jeff Clark outduels Kevin Rutledge for the second week in a row, but by a narrower margin as both clear 6-2. Full SCVAL CCS Qualifier Results.

Friday, May 13, 2005 - Top Marks update: The Aptos girls and Salinas boys enjoyed a big day last Saturday.

Monday, May 2, 2005 - Top Marks invitational update: Includes Alisal and Mount Hamilton results plus Menlo-Atherton senior Laurie Roberts' second 5'08" jump in as many weeks at the Logan Bay Area Top 8 meet nine days ago.

Sunday, May 1, 2005 - Top Marks dual meet update: With three top-15 marks at Homestead Thursday, the Mountain View girls slip ahead of Aptos into the top spot on the 3xHJ Relay at 15'08" as senior Jane Doolittle improves to 5'08". Aptos retains the #1 spot in the 4xHJ at 20'08", while Mountain View is still #1 in the 6xHJ at 29'08".

Wednesday, April 27, 2005 - Top Marks update: 53 new marks, 151 high jumpers now listed. At CCS Top 8 Saturday, Notre Dame-Salinas junior Leah Parsons was the only jumper able to conquer the headwinds for a new season best. Her 5'05" mark moved her up several spots on the girls list, the only movement among the top jumpers of either list this week.

Thursday, April 21, 2005 - Top Marks update: 99 new marks, 139 high jumpers now listed! Hot relay teams last week were Bellarmine boys and Aptos girls.

Tuesday, April 19, 2005 - Oak Grove senior Andre Roper took charge last week with jumps of 6-4 (dual) and 6-6 (Hampton-Phillips: 1st); meanwhile, Menlo-Atherton senior Laurie Roberts made her own statement with a 5-8 meet record at Serra Top 7. Much activity last week by 120 ranked jumpers has delayed an update to the CCS Top Marks list....

Saturday, April 9, 2005 - Top Marks dual meet update: Frosh Janelle Coulter leaps 5-4 as the Aptos girls combine for 29-4 in the 6xHJ relay (that's a 4-10.66 average!).

Tuesday, April 5, 2005 - Top Marks update: Mountain View senior Jane Doolittle opened her season last week with a 5-4 jump in a dual meet with Monta Vista that saw seven girls jump 4-8 or higher.

Wednesday, March 30, 2005 - Top Marks update: Amber is back on top with a 5-10 dual meet mark followed by a 5-8 victory at the Stanford Invitational!

Monday, March 28, 2005 - David Klech of California High School jumped a state-leading 7-0 to win the Stanford Invitational, Saturday. 83 high jump photos of girls/boys/men/women in Photos.

Sunday, March 20, 2005 - Los Gatos freshman Kevin Rutledge leaped 6-4 to top the boys chart of 42 jumpers this busy week just ended. Wildcat senior Michelle Johnson also topped our list of 46 girls and the State leaderboard as well at 5-8! Relay teams from Bellarmine, St.Francis, Mountain View, and Aptos reign after much activity on the team front in this third installment of the weekly 2005 CCS Top High Jump Marks list.

Monday, March 14, 2005 - The 2005 CCS Top High Jump Marks list has been updated with 56 new marks. Ten boys and fourteen girls plus twelve boys relay teams and eight girls relay teams were added following the first full week of competition for most schools.

Friday, March 11, 2005 - 58 high jump pictures (including three of State 1600m champ Alicia Follmar!) from Saratoga's dual meet at Mountain View yesterday are now posted on the StyleCam Photos page.

Wednesday, March 9, 2005 - The 2005 CCS Top High Jump Marks list is now here. Six boys are known to have jumped 5'08" or higher and eleven girls are over 4'08" in early non-league meets. Six boys and four girls high jump relay teams are also listed!

Friday, January 21, 2005 - The 2005 CCS Top Returning High Jumpers list is now here. Lead by senior Isaac Houston of The King's Academy (6'04") [ed: now at Leigh] and junior Amber Kaufman of Branham (5'10"), fourteen boys and twenty seven girls from last year's final Top Marks list are expected to return this season.

"The virtual home for High Jumpers of all ages in the Central Coast Section of California."

The primary focus of this website for the Spring of 2005 will be at the high school level. Local college and middle-school meet schedules and results will be posted if they are submitted.

During the summer, the focus of this site will shift towards all-comers, sub/masters, and age-group competitions. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome. Let me know what you want to see here!
